With the intention to give assistance to the students of the FUT and prepare them to usufruct of possible scholarships that they may acquire, the IAO created a Center of Languages for the academic comunity, offering a high standard language education, with low prices, accessible to the students.

The project, based in other Centers of Languages from other Federal Universities of the country, was very successfull on its first experiences. In the FUT, it will offer in the beginning, 5 languages and all the didactic material that is going to be used, follow the trends of the big language schools of Brazil and the world, with some of them, coming from the Embassies that represent each country. Besides the book, dictionaries, video tapes and Cds used in class, the IAO is providing the acquisition of films in the languages taught on the Center, with the intention to do once a week, a “movie session” for the students.

The teachers are professors from the University, with specializations in the languagas they are going to teach, or even, who have them as their native language.

The main aim of the Center is to enable the university community to face the challenges of the globalized world and prepare them to participate of Programs of Education and Research abroad and to dispute scholarszhips for these studies.
       
The first languages offered are: German, Spanish, French, English and Italian and the classes will happen in the afternoons, from 14h to 19h, from Monday to Friday. The timetables change according to the language and the level.
