The International Affairs Office (IAO) works in the elaboration of International Agreements kept by the Federal University of Tocantins – FUT, and in the orientation of students and teachers who search for information about options and necessary proceeds to study abroad. Among its functions, it's the release of opportunities of academic interchange / studies abroad, for the whole comunity of the FUT.

The work fields of IAO are described below, but they don't have the features of being mutually exclusive: 1 – Convenants and interchanges; 2 – Collection and release of information; 3 – International representation and articulation.

1 - Convenants and Interchanges: The function of the IAO includes the intermediation between groups in the FUT and in foreign institutions with interest in legalize their interchange and cooperation proceeds, the coordination and management of agreements and convenants of institutional comprehension and also the regulation of training programs for undergraduate students from FUT abroad, giving them, all the support in order to legalize the process.

2 - Collection and release of information:  The IAO searches and receives a growing quantity of information about all the aspects of interchange and international cooperation (courses, scholarship, conventions, training programs, publications etc.). With the aim of releasing them in the most democratic and efficient way as possible, the IAO usues folders, posters and its site on the internet, and also, send special information for the Programs and Courses, and for potencial and direct interested researchers.

3 - International representation and articulation: The IAO will not only represent the FUT in national and international meetings, but also, participate activelly on the articulation of the Assessorship of International Affairs in other Universities, trough the Forum of Assessorship for International Affairs of the Brazillian Universities – FAUBAI.
